Bio

The Cool Notes were a mid-1980s pop/funk group who had a string of chart hits in the UK between 1984 and 1986. The band, which formed in South London, consisted of seven members of both vocal and instrumental talent. They charted in the UK Top 40 in 1985 with Spend The Night (#11) and In Your Car (#13).

In 1991, now slimmed down to a trio, the Cool-Notes joined the PWL Empire owned by Pete Waterman also known as 'The Hit Factory' which included the very successful Production team 'Stock, Aitken & Waterman.  Over the last 25 years Stock, Aitken & Waterman were responsible for writing and producing over 200 hits, including smashes by Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Jason Donovan, Steps and so many more. However the Cool-Notes joined the company when they, (PWL) and the music industry was going through unprecedented changes where Managers and Reality TV started creating Pop Bands and Artists through their voting popularity as opposed to their talent, leading to the music industry we now have today. The Cool-Notes recorded many great tracks while at PWL unfortunately only one was ever released entitled "Make this a special night". Released as a single in September 1991 the song peaked at #86.

Four other songs were recorded at PWL, Sweetness And Light, Love Is A Freaky Thing, Turns Me Off and the singles B side, Where Do We Go From Here. Love Is A Freaky Thing and Turns Me Off (re-titled That Kinda Love) were also recorded by another SAW act, Boy Krazy.

Love Is A Freaky Thing was released as a digital bundle in 2010. PWL Dayz album available from The Cool Notes website.
