Paul Varney was one half of the pop duo Yell! who had a Top 10 hit in 1990 with with a cover of Dan Hartman's Instant Replay. The band recorded a track, One Thing Leads To Another,  with Stock Aitken Waterman for their debut album which led to Varney to working with the producers when the band split. He recorded two songs with SAW, If Only I Knew and So Proud Of you. If Only I Knew was slated as the first single release in 1991 but was withdrawn from release. So Proud Of You was released in October 1991 but did not chart. Both songs were later released as full digital bundles.
