It also reached No. 2 for four weeks on the Billboard Disco chart in 1978. The song spent 22 weeks on the American charts, and became a Gold record. In the UK the record peaked at No. 26.

In 1992 the DJ duo Pat & Mick released their version for the Help A London Child charity with Mike Stock and Pete Waterman. The single reached No. 80 in the UK singles chart.
